Shelter For Change is a transitional living (also known as sober living) and non-medical detox house with a caring support group that provides room and board for 12 men. Shelter For Change is a non-profit organization founded on the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous and is a safe place for recovering addicts who are willing and want help. Shelter For Change is managed by fellow recovering alcoholics and drug addicts who participate in their own recovery and work the 12 step program. We believe in helping one another on a daily basis and keeping each other accountable. We are in the business of saving lives and humbly want to give back and pay it forward!
Requirements: To be admitted, men must meet the following requirements:
- Have a desire to stop drinking or using drugs
- Test clean
- Be assessed by S.F.C. staff
- Be willing to become active and participate in your recover
- Must find a sponsor

- Being of service (Examples: feeding the homeless, helping any fellow recovering alcoholics/addicts)
- Shooting as a group at our local gun range (Family Owned)
- Swimming
- Yoga and gym activities
- AA/NA conventions
- Transportation to any doctor appointments etc.
S.F.C Non-Medical Detox
Detox is THE FIRST STEP into recovery and a new life alcohol and drug free!!
Making the decision to take the first step in a fresh start and a new life can be uncomfortable, we understand! We also understand that going through the detox/withdrawal period will scare individuals into staying in active disease for even longer. But we believe and KNOW the outcome of staying in active using/drinking will end in death for many of us.
We believe in non-medical detoxification. For a number of reasons..

It strips all the toxins from the old you and gives you the chance to start fresh.
- S.F.C. has staff at hand to walk individuals through this process and aid to their needs
- Detox is typically 3-7 days depending on each person
- In some cases there may be medical attention necessary, if this happens S.F.C. will escort the individual to the nearest hospital
